Dubai Summer 2022

As the title suggests, I went to dubai with my parents in Summer

And if you can believe it, it was cheaper than our original plan of going to Ireland. I don't know why, but for some reason renting a car over there would have cost several thousand euros, which just doesn't make any sense. So my dad, who was in Dubai a couple of months earlier, suggested it as an alternative, Something I couldn't be happier about.

The flight was pretty decent, the only issue were the god awful headphones, I don't know how my parents managed to wear them the whole 6 hour flight (WHY WERE THEY SQUARE?!) It was unfortunate because Emirates had a pretty huge selection of Movies, but I had some episodes of Better Call Saul downloaded so I was fine. We arrived close to midnight in Dubai; The airport is huge and modern, You can tell it's built for masses and masses of people, like a lot of the Infrastructure, which we'll get to later.

The airport was directly connected to the Metro, not once did we have to step foot outside, so the reality was even harsher when we got off at our stop, up the escalators and into the damp boiling night. Immediately, and when I mean immediately i mean IMMEDIATELY upon exiting the metro station, my clothes started sticking to me. It was only a five minute walk to our hotel but it was almost unbearable. It was so so so so so hot. However hot you imagine it was, it was hotter than that. We weren't even close to the high rises, and the buildings already completely blew me away. I live in a somewhat small town, and while I have travelled my fair share, I am always impressed by tall buildings (You can see where this is going…)
